Service Description

Come walk and talk to destress. Take a walk and talk freely about life, stress, relationships, work, grief, disappointment, dreams, goals, marriage, family, kids, money, the pandemic, healthcare, FB, Youtube, Google, Tik tok, Instagram, the weather, news, sports, favorite movie, LGBTQ+ or stepkids. Get things off of your chest. I listen to your struggles with no judgment or advice. No topic is too much or too little. Studies have shown that simply talking about our problems and sharing our negative emotions with someone we trust can be profoundly healing—reducing stress, strengthening our immune system, and reducing physical and emotional distress (Pennebaker, Kiecolt-Glaser, & Glaser, 1988). We can also experience a healing effect with simple mindfulness practice—consciously noting and labeling our emotions (“sad,” “anxious,” “confused”). By paying attention and naming these feelings, we can watch them dissipate, fading from our minds as we become more mindful, centered, and at peace (Lieberman et al, 2007). Revealing why verbalizing helps heal our emotional pain, neuroscience studies by Lieberman et. al. (2007) and Vago and Silbersweig (2012) have found that labeling our feelings reduces activation in the amygdala, our brain’s alarm system that triggers the fight-or-flight reaction. When we give words to our emotions, we move away from limbic reactivity by activating those parts of the brain that deal with language and meaning in the right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (Lieberman et al, 2007). We become less reactive and more mindfully aware. A Walk & Talk is not mental health counseling. If you need mental health counseling, Google it for your local area. It is a 45-minute walk with a buffer at each end of the hour for sharing resources or having some water together.

Cancellation Policy

Appointment & Cancellation Policy To ensure that every client receives the time and attention they deserve, pre-payment is required for all scheduled appointments. This helps reserve your dedicated session time and reduce the number of no-shows or last-minute cancellations that can disrupt the schedule. Please note that pre-payments are non-refundable if the appointment is canceled or if you do not show up for your scheduled time. Life happens, and sometimes you may need to adjust your appointment. If you need to reschedule, please reach out by text or phone call only—emails are not accepted for scheduling, as they often go to spam and may not be seen in time. You must contact me at least 24 hours in advance to move your appointment without losing your pre-payment. If notice is given after that window, or if you miss your appointment entirely, your payment will not be transferred or credited to a future date. This policy helps maintain fairness for all clients and ensures that available appointment times are respected and used wisely. When appointments are canceled last minute, it’s difficult to fill the spot with another client who may have been waiting for an opening. If you happen to no-show more than once or cancel more than twice, please understand that your right to book future appointments may be revoked. This policy is in place to protect the flow and consistency of care for all clients while maintaining mutual respect for time and commitment. Thank you for understanding that this approach helps keep the schedule running smoothly, ensures availability for others, and allows me to provide the best possible service for every client who books an appointment.
